Pujara’s Special Fifty

Cheteshwar Pujara ended a 12-innings drought at Headingley and scored his 30th half-century of his Test career. It is the responsibility of Pujara and captain Virat Kohli to play big innings.

Rohit Sharma’s wicket

Rohit Sharma (59) and Pujara took the position of the team with an 82-run partnership for the second wicket. The pair were playing well when Ollie Robinson bowled an in-swing ball to lbw Rohit Sharma.

Strong half century by Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma completed his half-century by taking a run in the fourth ball of the 38th over of the innings by Sam Curran. He hit fifty in 125 balls with the help of 6 fours and a six. Rohit Sharma has made a partnership of more than 50 runs with Pujara. Together, both are busy handling the Indian team.

Rahul out with a brilliant catch by Bairstow

Team India made a slow start in the second innings. KL Rahul (8) had a 34-run partnership with Rohit Sharma. Just before lunch, Bairstow took a brilliant catch of Rahul by diving to the left at second slip off Overton.

England all out in 10 minutes

Team India ended England’s innings within 10 minutes on the third day of the third test. Mohammed Shami first lbw out Craig Overton (32). After this, Jasprit Bumrah finished England’s innings with a clean bowling to Ollie Robinson. Mohammed Shami took the maximum four wickets for India. Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Siraj got two wickets each.

Recall that thanks to the strong innings of captain Joe Root (121) and David Malan (70), England’s first innings was all out after scoring 432 runs in 132.2 overs. English openers Rory Burns (61) and Haseeb Hameed (68) also contributed well.

Earlier, Team India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first. This decision of the Indian captain proved to be completely wrong. The innings of the visiting team collapsed like a pack of cards. The entire team was bundled out for just 78 runs in 40.4 overs. Only two Indian batsmen could score double numbers. Rohit Sharma (19) and Ajinkya Rahane (18). James Anderson and Craig Overton took three wickets each for England. Ollie Robinson and Sam Curran had two successes each.

Remind that Team India defeated England by 151 runs in the second Test at Lord’s to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. The first Test played in Nottingham ended in a draw due to rain. It is to be known that at present Team India with 12 points is at the top of the points table of the World Test Championship. England’s team is at number four.
