Copa America 2021 : Brazil vs Venezuela Colombia vs Ecuador: Copa America, the biggest football tournament of South American countries, started in Brazil from Sunday (June 13).
In the first match, hosts Brazil beat Venezuela 3-0 to start the tournament with a bang. After this, Colombia defeated Ecuador 1-0 in the second match. On Monday (June 14), Argentina will face Chile and Paraguay will take on Bolivia. Brazil, the 9-time champion team in the history of the tournament, is also a favorite this time.
Marquinhos, Neymar Jr and Gabriel Barbosa scored for Brazil in the match played at the Mane Garincha Stadium in Brasilia. A day before this, many Venezuelan players were found to be Kovid-19 positive. Brazil was handed over the hosting of the tournament at the last minute which was opposed by its top players. Marquinhos scored the first goal for Brazil in the 23rd minute.
Neymar then scored a penalty in the 64th minute. Gabriel Barbosa scored the last goal of the match for Brazil on Neymar’s pass. Neymar has overtaken Poland’s star striker Robert Lewandowski in the list of highest goal scorers. Lewandowski has 66 balls to his name. At the same time, Neymar became 67. He is just 10 goals behind Brazil’s top goal scorer Pele (77 goals).
On the other hand, Colombia defeated Ecuador 1–0 in the second match of the tournament with a goal from Edwin Cardona. Cardona scored the crucial goal in the 42nd minute which proved decisive in the end. Midfielder Cardona took a free kick close to the penalty box for Ecuador. Instead of taking a straight shot, he passed the ball with a short pass with Juan Guillermo Cuadrado. Cuadrado handed the ball to Miguel Borja. Borja hit a header to Cordona, who scored the goal by hitting goalkeeper Pedro Ortiz.
